Aquilo: A Safe Place To Be

Postcard Models were commissioned by Studio Charlie Drinkwater to recreate a miniature model of Silverdale, based on Aquilo’s memories on growing up in the small Lake District village. We visited Silverdale in March with the aim to capture as many photos as possible of Silverdale high-street.

Using a combination of techniques to replicate the authentic representation of the village in N-scale - clay carving for walls and buildings, 3D printing the ‘Pepperpot’ monument' and millennium clock. The buildings were designed using images taken on a research trip to Silverdale, drawn to scale and cut out in plywood/mount card. We developed the model based on the narrative from Ben and Tom’s upbringing in Silverdale with a dash of their time spent in LA.
